Happy Mother's Day....To All Loving, Nurturing Women

I'm one of those people who believe that all women, at one point or another, will nurture & love another creature. Whether it be a small furry animal, a child, a grown adult, or a husband, women tend to nurture, love, connect with something, someone, at some point of their lives.

I believe that Mother's Day is a special day for moms. But does being a 'mom' literally mean you have had to give birth to another living creature? Or does it mean that you just have had to nurture & love another creature?

My Mom died last June. She was my adoptive Mom. Nonetheless, she was my Mom. She was the woman who raised me, who listened to my problems, who pissed me off at times...as I'm sure I did to her as well. She is the woman who nurtured me. Who loved me.

I had a fabulous, wonderful, incredible maternal Grandmother who also nurtured & loved me. She was a woman who I will forever love, and wish I had had more Earthly time with.

And I had a wonderful, funny, super sociable maternal Aunt as well, who also put time in on me, nurturing & loving me. She died last May, 29-days before my Mom died.

Currently, I have my Aunt's sister, my Surrogate Aunt. She has no children of her own, and her nieces & nephews live in other states. However, my husband & I live next to her, and I visit her daily. She has come to love me, and nurture me.

I created this card for my Surrogate Aunt for a "non-mothers who treat you like your mother" Mother's Day card. Because she's someone special, and she deserves it!

So you see, at some point, women tend to nurture and love....which I feel makes all of us "moms" to something, someone, at some point of our lives.

Happy Mother's Day to all those women who have given birth, adopted, fostered, nurtured, and loved unconditionally! Have a wonderful day!!
